Department of Mathematics
Το Τμήμα Μαθηματικών ιδρύθηκε το 1966 με το Β.Δ. 223/1966 (Φ.Ε.Κ. 58/Α/14.03.1966) και είναι το δεύτερο σε σειρά αρχαιότητας Τμήμα του Πανεπιστημίου Ιωαννίνων. Στην 50-ετή και πλέον εξελικτική του πορεία, το Τμήμα Μαθηματικών πέρασε από διάφορα στάδια ανάπτυξης. Σήμερα, διαδραματίζει ένα σημαντικό ρόλο στο επιστημονικό γίγνεσθαι όχι μόνο της περιοχής των Ιωαννίνων και της Ηπείρου, αλλά της χώρας, γενικότερα. Το ερευνητικό του έργο και η ερευνητική του παρουσία αναγνωρίζεται διεθνώς. Το Πρόγραμμα Σπουδών του – τόσο στον προπτυχιακό, όσο και τον μεταπτυχιακό κύκλο – χαρακτηρίζεται από πλουραλισμό και θεραπεύει όλους τους σύγχρονους κλάδους της μαθηματικής επιστήμης.
Το Τμήμα απαρτίζεται οργανωτικά από 4 Τομείς (Φ.Ε.Κ. 149/Β/06.04.1983 και Φ.Ε.Κ. 2418/Β/07.06.2021):

Certification
The Undergraduate Study Programme (U.S.P.) of the Department of Mathematics at the University of Ioannina has been certified by the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (H.A.H.E.) and fully complies with the principles of the H.A.H.E. Undergraduate Study Programme Quality Standard, as well as the Quality Assurance Principles of the European Higher Education Area (ESG 2015), for Level 6 of the National and European Qualifications Framework.
