I welcome you to the website of the Faculty of Science of the University of Ioannina. The Faculty of Science is the successor to the former School of Physics and Mathematics (established in 1970). Today, three Departments operate within the Faculty:

Department of Chemistry
The main objectives of the Faculty are:

To provide high-quality education to its students
To conduct cutting-edge research and produce internationally recognized scholarly work
To foster external engagement for the benefit of society
The study programmes of the three Departments are well-structured, flexible, and modern. They offer high-quality undergraduate education in contemporary fields of knowledge that are essential for the successful professional careers of graduates. At the same time, they support a number of postgraduate programmes in more specialized areas.

A large number of doctoral candidates and postgraduate students are supported through competitive programmes and scholarships secured by Faculty members, funded by both European and national bodies. The Faculty’s academic staff are distinguished by their high scientific standing and their academic achievements.

With a strong commitment to teaching and research, and with respect for citizens and society, the Faculty’s academic and research staff continuously evolve, contributing to the development of a strong academic tradition.
